Dr Dan Naylor
Clinical Director & Dentist

Dr Dan Naylor is the Principal dentist and clinical lead at Ruabon Road Dental Practice. Having become a partner in 2004, and taking sole control in 2016, he has gone on to develop the practice by investing both in his excellent staff and state-of the-art facilities. After graduating from Liverpool University Dental School, he continued as a Senior House Officer, completing his membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College in Edinburgh. This allowed him to develop his surgical skills in order to deal with more complicated cases of tooth removal and dental surgery. After becoming a partner, Dan turned his attention to developing the best skills possible for treating patients. Having been taught by some of Europe and the world’s finest dentists, including Mauro Fradeani, Gulip Gurel and Frank Spear, Dan completed his two year diploma in restorative dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, gaining him an award that sets the standard for Dentists in the UK. Dan is a Gold Invisalign Provider. Dan loves to cycle and can often be seen riding around the countryside with fellow associate Will.
Dr Will Hodgson
Dentist with Special Interest in Implantology

Dr Hodgson has worked in dental practices in Wrexham and Liverpool and has held training posts working in the oral, maxillofacial departments in Glan Clwyd and Wrexham Maelor Hospitals and in an orthodontic referral practice. At Ruabon Road Dental Practice Dr Hodgson helped train newly qualified dentists as a Vocational Training Dentist and has gained a certificate in Facilitating Healthcare Learning from UCLAN. Dr Hodgson has a keen interest in all aspects of restorative dentistry, particularly implants and has completed the Synergy Training Programme for Restoration of Implants and attained a Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from Tipton Training Academy. In 2018 he attained a postgraduate certificate in implantology. Will enjoys cycling, kayaking, working on mini engineering projects and spending time with the other Dr Hodgson and their children.
Dr Anne-Marie Hodgson
Dentist with Special Interest in Facial Aesthetics and Periodontics
GDC No 82160
Dr Hodgson qualified from Liverpool University with an Award from the Prosthetics Department for Outstanding achievement and subsequently passed her MFGDP part A. Dr Hodgson joined Ruabon Road Dental Practice in 2014 since which time she has carried out all types of NHS and private treatments. In 2017 Dr Hodgson completed an Advanced Facial Aesthetics course and regularly performs wrinkle-reducing treatments at Ruabon Road Dental Practice. In 2018 Dr Hodgson completed a course in General Dentistry at Rose Lane Dental Practice, Liverpool to update her skills and knowledge in various aspects of restorative dentistry. To further support her special interest in periodontics Annie completed a Periodontal Masterclass in 2023 and is subsequently a referring dentist treating patients with extreme gum disease and infection. Annie enjoys running, having fun nights out with friends and spending quality time with her three children.
Dr Sam Johnson
Dentist with Special Interest in Endodontics

Dr Sam Johnson qualified in 2015 and provides both NHS and private dentistry at Ruabon Road Dental Practice.His private dentistry portfolio includes dentures, root canal treatment, all ceramic crowns, highly polished anterior composite fillings and teeth whitening, soft splints and sports guards. Sam completed Master’s degree in Endodontology (root canal) in 2021, so is the best qualified to carry out intricate root canal treatment for both internally and externally referred patients. Dr Sam Johnson was awarded the General Dental Practitioner 2023 prize by the British Endodontic Society at their Annual National Conference and as a result recently ran a workshop at Bangor Hospital for dentists demonstrating how to perform successful root canal treatment.
Sam’s youtube channel i-love-the-pulp, streams live videos of RCT treatments, tutorials and apparatus reviews. Sam loves playing football in the garden with his three little boys and inventing and repairing things in his garage.
Dr Anwen Hooson
Dentist with Special Interest in Minimally Invasive Treatments and Facial Aesthetics

Dr Anwen Hooson qualified from Manchester University in 2014 and worked in a NHS practice in Mold before joining the Ruabon Road Dental Team in January 2021. Dr Hooson predominantly provides NHS treatment at the practice but also carries out private work and has a special interest in minimally invasive dentistry and facial aesthetics. Anwen is a Silver Smilelign Provider. Anwen is a fluent welsh speaker. She enjoys travelling, running and spending time with her little girl.
Dr Sophie Diss
Dentist
GDC No 297127
Dr Sophie Diss qualified from Leeds University in 2021 and joined the Ruabon Road team initially as a Foundation dentist then became an Associate Dentist in September 2022. Dr Diss provides both NHS and private general treatments at the practice. Sophie has grown up with dentistry as both parents are also dentists. Sophie enjoys ski-ing, exercising and travelling.
Dr Chris Bradley
Dentist with Special Interest in Oral Surgery

Dr Chris Bradley graduated from Aberdeen Dental School in 2016. He completed his vocational training year in Telford and subsequently completed two years of dental core training (Liverpool Dental Hospital and Maxillofacial department Princess Royal Hospital Telford). Chris provides private dental care at Ruabon Road dental Practice on Fridays and Saturdays.
Chris enjoys all aspect of dentistry but has a particular interest in oral surgery and is commencing further study in implants. Chris has two cats (Phyllis and Stanley) and is also a veterinary surgeon.
Dr Bethan Pritchard
Dentist

Dr Bethan Pritchard qualified from Birmingham University in 2017. She completed her dental core training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Broomfield Hospital, and also completed a year of oral medicine and pathology dental core training at The Royal London Dental Hospital.
Bethan provided NHS care at a dental practice in Hertfordshire before returning with her partner in 2023 to settle down in her North Wales and join Ruabon Road Dental Practice. Dr Pritchard predominantly provides NHS treatment at the practice but also carries out private work. Bethan is a fluent Welsh speaker who loves to travel and has recently returned from a trip across South East Asia.
Dr Lydia Crisp
Dentist

Dr Lydia Crisp qualified from Birmingham University where she accumulated a string of awards including Biological Sciences Prize 2016, John Humphrey's Memorial Prize in Basic Dental Sciences in 2017 and Sir Arthur Thompson Trust for Best Final Year Student in 2020. Having completed her Foundation Year in Hertfordshire, Lydia relocated to Shropshire where she practiced as a NHS dentist before joining Ruabon Road in July 2023 to provide both NHS and private treatments. A recipient of the West Midland's BSPD prize in 2020 for special care at university, Lydia has a proven track record in helping nervous patients overcome their dental anxiety. Lydia loves to travel and as a qualified PADI scuba diver her adventures often take her exploring the world above and below water.
Dr Rhiannon Howlett
Foundation Dentist

Dr Rhiannon Howlett studied for 7 years at Liverpool University graduating with a BSc(Hons) Anatomy and Human Biology in 2019 then with a BDS first class honours degree in 2023 with distinctions in restorative and oral diseases. Rhiannon ranked within the top 20 of the Foundation Dentist selection process and chose to carry out her foundation year at Ruabon Road. Rhiannon is fascinated by facial muscles and structure and during her time as a Craniofacial Research Assistant wrote published papers on the topic. Rhiannon predominantly provides NHS care with a special interest in paediatric dentistry. Rhiannon is an advocate of the art of mindfulness and during lockdown 2020 completed a manifestation course. Rhiannon's favourite sport is power lifting, strength and conditioning.
Dental Therapists & Hygienist
Our Therapy and Hygiene team are key to promoting excellent oral health in children and adults. Their role is not limited to providing dental treatment to prevent disease but is also to support patients achieve optimal oral hygiene through bespoke care plans, advice and guidance.
